In some parts of the country, Tulips are already popping out of the ground and leaves are budding on trees. Last month I was in Paris and there were still flowers around!
However, in the Catskills, we’re still trudging along until Spring decides to grace us with its presence. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t still have some produce gems at the market and a few delicious recipes to cook!
If January is about stillness, February is about restlessness, I am ready for winter to be over and desperate for a change in the grey barren landscape.
So to the kitchen, I go! Whipping up comfort food that brings me a smile, warming up over a warm pot of squash soup or vegetable stew, or on baking days I turn on a great audiobook (just finished “We Were Never Here” in one day!), throw on my apron, and get to work stirring rich chocolate batter for the best-ever brownies, or zesting citrus for a light lemon loaf.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Well, that's a little dramatic. There are still a few things growing in green houses, and many things growing in warmer climates.
