A super healthy frosty treat, anti-inflammatory tropical turmeric popsicles. Five simple ingredients create a healthy popsicle to enjoy all summer long.
It has been about 4 billion degrees in NYC for the past week. Fun times. Sitting down to a proper meal just doesn't work. The only thing I want is cold drinks, light salads, and frozen treats. It is officially time to break out my new popsicle molds! I made a big batch of these anti-inflammatory tropical turmeric popsicles and ate them all. It helped. Honestly, it did.
I would love to tell you that this didn't really happen, but it did. I ate them all. Maybe not in one day, but over the course of a few days. Yup, all gone. I may have given Penelope a little nibble (can dogs have turmeric??), but other than that I didn't share.
I've never made popsicles before. Maybe because it's more of a mom thing to do and I don't have kids? I don't know, but I randomly ordered popsicle molds on Amazon prime day this year (zero impulse control on prime day) and thought.. oh yeah, there are going to be some popsicles happening up in here!
Turns out, popsicle making is pretty darn easy. Honestly, you can make them with one ingredient, fruit. Kind of ridiculously simple. So it does beg the question, why do popsicles in the grocery store have so many ingredients?
I'm just going to be straight here, these tropical turmeric popsicles are frosty, fruity, and delicious, #truth. These tasty treats will keep you cool and refreshed no matter how hot it is outside. You can trust me on that, I've tested the theory.
I added some super anti-inflammatory functional ingredients to these golden beauties because I am a nutritionist and that is kind of important to me 🙂

Plus, when you have the opportunity to add medicinal compounds (I do consider turmeric medicinal) why wouldn't you? Isn't it better to eat turmeric in popsicle form rather than pill form?
Um yes! Yes, it is.
Turmeric is one of the most potent anti-inflammatories, some studies have even shown that turmeric can be more effective as an anti-inflammatory than pharmaceuticals (like Advil). What!
You may notice an odd ingredient listed, black pepper. It's important to add black pepper to any recipe that uses turmeric. I break down the super simple reasons in this post about turmeric.
So here ya go, a popsicle that is not only delicious but also helps to combat the “holy-shit-it's-a-billion-degrees- and-I-can't-take-it” blues.
P.S. I GTS (googled that shit) dogs can, in fact, eat turmeric and it is just as good for them as it is for humans. Woop! Woop!

Can these be made without the coconut oil and still come out with the right consistency and taste?
